What is Avenues for Hope
AAFV is participating in the state-wide Avenues for Hope fundraising campaign. Every donation helps provide critical resources to ensure Idahoans in need have access to safe, stable, affordable housing and supportive services.
All funds raised through our AAFV Avenues for Hope help AAFV provide shelter, transitional housing, and affordable housing to survivors of domestic violence as they transition into a life free of violence and affordable housing options to the community at large.
Hope’s Door provides shelter to Idahoans who fall into the largest category of homeless in the state, those who have lost their home due to domestic violence or the break up of a family. Those fleeing domestic violence often have no safe place to stay and leave the situation with little to no possessions. Shelters like Hope’s Door rely on critical funding from our community to provide safety and necessities in a time of need. AAFV has provided shelter to 70 women and 63 children, with 12 individuals on the waiting list this year.
AAFV’s transitional and supportive housing programs provide families leaving the shelter with a place to live while they continue to build a life free of violence. In 2024, we served 18 families by providing them with transitional, supportive, or permanent housing. The availability of transitional, supportive, and permanent housing is determined by the applicant’s income and the availability of units at the time.
Funds raised through Avenues for Hope allow AAFV to continue providing better futures for families leaving violent situations. Participating in this year’s campaign can help us raise critical funds.

Participating is easy:

- Set up your fundraising page with your goal and why you support AAFV.
- Start sharing the link to your fundraising page through social media and emails to let your friends and family know you are participating.
- Starting December 9, your family and friends can donate to your fundraising page and help you make a big difference in the lives of domestic violence survivors!
